| The
Process of Design
The foundation
of information generated in the research ideation phase
establishes the basis of the concept development process.
Once the initial parameters are established, the PTI
integrated “design engineering” process
continues into the conceptual design phase. In this
phase, the physical embodiment of the product is explored.
The PTI “design engineering” process allows
all concepts to be developed with manufacturing in mind,
even if our involvement ends after the initial conceptual
phase. Due to the fact the total development process
is circular, not linear, PTI takes into account new
information generated in the concept development phase
and constantly re-evaluates it relative to the project,
therefore allowing timely changes to be made. Additionally,
the manufacturing and materials requirements are always
considered. The creative process happens in many forms,
and the best one will be applied to the specific requirement.
