Frequently Asked Qusetions

Question:

Why use PTI for my product development?

Answer:

Packer Technologies International, Inc. (PTI) is built on the assumption that the management of product development and its technology for business, like many other bodies of knowledge such as legal advice or manufacturing consulting, is not a do-it-yourself effort. Smart business people who are not product development specialists need to partner with quality vendors that possess the proper expertise and experience as well as reliable hardware, software, service, and support. They need to use these quality vendors as they use their other professional service suppliers: as trusted allies.

PTI is such a vendor. We serve our clients as a trusted ally, providing them with the loyalty of a business partner and the economy of an outside vendor. We ensure our clients have what they need to run their businesses with maximum efficiency and reliability. Many of our product development programs are mission critical, so we give our clients the security of knowing that we will be there when they need us.

Question:

How is a Project Managed?

Answer:

The client is in control of the project at every step in the development cycle. Project hand-offs are smooth, expectations are clear, and deliverables are timely and consistent. PTI manages critical client interaction by providing a network of contacts for receiving project feedback and discussing urgent needs. A project specification analysis is generated prior to the initiation of any project, as well as a detailed project ghant chart illustrating deliverables, time frames, and costs. PTI appoints a lead engineer to guide each project through the engineering group as well as an experienced project manager to act as an interface between the PTI team and the client. This creates a vital communication network that enables the PTI team to mesh with the client's team.

Question:

What is the best process in manufacturing my product?

Answer:

There are numerous forms of manufacturing processes. Which process is suitable for a particular product depends on many variables of the product itself. Some of the most common plastics manufacturing processes include injection molding, reaction injection molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, rotational molding, vacuum forming, pressure forming, rim/vacuum casting, and thermoforming. The right process for a particular product will depend upon the design, volume, and materials needed. One of PTI's strength is the ability to engineer products with manufacturability in mind. With hundreds of PTI designed products successfully reaching the market, we have the experience and knowledge necessary to help our clients reach their product development goals.

For a design to be successful it must be manufacturable as well as aesthetically pleasing. PTI, unlike many design firms, accounts for manufacturing design requirements early on in the design process. A PTI designed product will have good aesthetic design and will be manufacturable at the price point and volume the client requires.
